We see the signs in the sky, Rome is ready to fall
But we stand tall right behind the walls
Literature and art are empty and pathetic
Having no soul and still prized more than gold
Seniors are ignored, people care for their pets more
Celebrities and populists are valued over the skilled
People refuse to work to put food on their plate
Taxes rise and Rome becomes a welfare state
We see the signs in the sky, Rome is ready to fall
But we stand tall right behind the walls
Should we knock down the door
Or wait until dawn with faith in our soul
Soldiers are mercenaries and not patriots in arms
Birthrate declines and those in power rob the state
Public functions are run mainly for profit
Traditional values are replaced by cynicism
Foreigners immigrate by masses
Morals decline and people lose all barriers
Families, the building blocks of society fall apart
The state deficit reached an unpayable height
Corruption infiltrates every decision being made
State leaders escape punishment for their crimes
Political agenda is only bread and game
People are unsatisfied and complain at all times
We see the signs in the sky, Rome is ready to fall
But we stand tall right behind the walls
Should we knock down the door
Or wait until dawn with faith in our soul
